Read the following comprehension carefully and answer the questions followed by

Once upon a time there was a little boy called Paulo. One day he saw a beautiful blue bird in his garden. The bird has a bean in his claw. The bird said to Paulo, “Take this bean and plant it in your garden. It will bring you good luck”. So, Paulo took the bean. It was very strange.it was five c.m. long and two and a half c.m. wide and was blue in colour.

Paulo dug a hole in his vegetable garden. Then he put some cowdung in ot and planted the bean.

Paulo watered his bean and gave it more cowdung. Then he waited. Two weeks passed. Three weeks passed. Four weeks passed, but still Paulo’s bean didn’t come up.

Then suddenly one morning there were two leaves. The next morning there were four leaves. On the third morning there were eight leaves.

In Brazil plants grow very quickly. After one week, Paulo’s bean was one metre high.

Then Paulo’s parents saw it. “What is it?”, they asked. “It’s a bean stalk”, Paulo answered. “It’s very strange”, said his father. “It’s makes me nervous”, said his mother. “Don’t worry”, said Paulo, “It’s a good bean stalk. It will bring us good luck”.

Paulo loved his bean stalk. Everyday he gave it water and cowdung.
